Turns out, getting the Kaioken isn't just a matter of finding it lying around like a spare Senzu Bean. It's a bit of a journey, my friend. A journey that involves a certain spiky-haired mentor and a whole lot of fighting. (Doesn't everything in Dragon Ball involve fighting?)

Becoming Goku's Disciple (Sort Of)

The first step, and arguably the most important, is to unlock Goku as a mentor. Now, you might be thinking, "Easy! I know Goku!" Well, in Xenoverse 2, you gotta prove yourself worthy of his teachings. You'll unlock him naturally by progressing through the main story. Just keep playing those story missions. Trust me, you'll get there. Think of it as your pre-Kaioken training arc. You’ll know you can take him on as a mentor when you can see his icon to mentor under.

Once Goku is available, head over to him and choose him as your mentor. He'll give you a series of training missions to complete. These missions will test your combat skills and your ability to… uh… follow directions. (Goku isn't exactly known for his crystal-clear instructions, is he?)

The Kaioken Awakening: The Trials

Here's where things get interesting. Goku's training isn't a walk in the park. You'll have to complete all of his initial training missions before he even hints at the Kaioken. These early missions will teach you some basic techniques and prepare you for the real challenge. (Don't worry, they're not too hard... unless you're fighting a Super Saiyan Blue version of him, then, good luck!)

After completing the basic training, Goku will finally introduce the Kaioken technique. But he won't just hand it over. Oh no. He'll make you earn it. Get ready to fight. A lot. These fights get tougher and tougher and tougher.

During these Kaioken training missions, pay close attention to what Goku tells you. He'll give you tips on how to use the technique effectively. Things like when to activate it, when to de-activate it. More importantly, he'll explain the drawback of the Kaioken. Remember, it drains your stamina like crazy! Mismanage it and you will be left vulnerable to attacks. So, use it wisely! (Trust me, I learned that the hard way.)

Kaioken: Unleashed!

Once you've successfully completed all of Goku's Kaioken training missions, the technique is yours! Congratulations! You've officially unlocked the ability to transform into a red-aura-fueled fighting machine! Now you can go back online and show those Namekians who's boss! (Or at least put up a slightly better fight. No guarantees, though.)

To use the Kaioken, you'll need to equip it as one of your character's skills. Go to the customization menu and select the skills option. Find the Kaioken in your list of available skills and equip it. Once it's equipped, you can activate it during battle by pressing the corresponding button combination. (Check your controller settings to make sure you know which buttons to press!)

Remember, the Kaioken isn't a magic bullet. It's a powerful technique, but it has its limitations. Use it strategically and don't get overconfident. And most importantly, have fun!
